The paddle dryer is a horizontal stirred drying equipment primarily utilizing indirect conductive heating. During operation, thermal media such as steam, hot water, or heat transfer oil enter the jacket of the shell and the hollow paddle shaft through rotary joints at the shaft ends, enabling both the inner wall of the shell and the surface of the paddles to serve as heat transfer surfaces. Wet material is continuously fed into the W-shaped shell via a feeding device and, under the action of slowly rotating wedge-shaped hollow paddles, is repeatedly flipped, mixed, compressed, and relaxed, ensuring thorough contact with the heated surfaces and rapid evaporation of surface moisture. The paddles are angled axially, causing the material to move along a spiral path toward the discharge end during mixing. Residence time can be adjusted by controlling rotational speed, feed rate, and material level. The relative motion between the wedge-shaped paddles and the material also cleans the heat transfer surfaces, reducing adhesion and caking, thereby maintaining high heat transfer efficiency. Moisture vapor and minor exhaust gases generated during drying are discharged under sealed or slightly negative pressure, then treated through condensation, dust removal, or odor elimination before release. Dried material is continuously discharged from the outlet.
