The rotary flash dryer is a continuous drying equipment that integrates drying, grinding, and classification, primarily used for dewatering paste-like, filter-cake-like, and highly viscous materials. During operation, hot air enters the drying tower tangentially from the bottom, creating a high-speed, spiraling upward airflow inside the tower. Wet material is fed into the base of the tower in precise quantities via a screw feeder and rapidly broken down and dispersed under the intense impact, friction, and shearing action of high-speed rotating impellers. It then comes into full contact with the hot air, causing moisture to evaporate instantly. Fine particles with low moisture content rise with the airflow, while larger or incompletely dried particles are thrown against the tower walls by centrifugal force, fall back to the bottom, and are re-ground and dried, forming an internal circulation. A classification ring is installed at the upper part of the drying tower; only powder meeting specified fineness and dryness requirements can pass through and be discharged with the airflow. The final product is collected after passing through a cyclone separator and a baghouse filter, while treated exhaust gas is released after dust removal. The residence time of the material inside the tower is extremely short—typically just a few seconds—making this equipment particularly suitable for drying heat-sensitive materials.
